Boys Beat Fredonia By Cherokee Thornburgh (1/27/09) The Both the junior varsity and varsity boys walked away with a win. The JV game started out a bit slow, but they picked up their energy and dominated with a 30 point lead. Matt Adamson and Ricky Perez came with the attitude to win, and they never gave up until their fight was over. The record for the JV boys stands
at five wins, three losses. The varsity boys had an amazing game. There was even a time in there where they held the ball for a minute and a half without the other team touching it. The first quarter score was 12-6. By the second quarter, the lead was squeezed to 14-10. When the boys came back from the locker room, they gained a 10 point lead, with the score 26-16. ”Fredonia never took the lead,“ BDHS head coach Vaughn Jenkins commented. Fredonia showed a lack of discipline, leading to a technical foul, which sent the D-Backs to the line. Jovi Breidel made both his shots. In the end, the Diamondbacks walked away with a 47-45 win. All in all, both teams did well in
their own categories; the Diamondbacks just got the best of the Lynx. |
