Vote Yes
On Bond Five years ago, there
wasn’t a high school. One year ago, the
students were so crowded that there were even classes in the library and the
hall. Now look at it. Not only are there 12
classrooms instead of six, but there is also a commons area and a media
center. Because of more
classrooms and smaller class sizes, there is more one-on-one learning which
leads to higher grade point averages. There’s no doubt
about it. The school has improved
both physically and academically. Still, The school board has
proposed a 1.6 million dollar bond to build a vocational center. “It’s an exciting
time in the history of the school district. We finally have a high school
with programs we can be proud of. However, there are many programs students
are unable to participate in due to a lack of facilities. This bond will
allow students to have home economics and shop classes, music and drama
performances, and necessary space for visiting teams at athletic events,”
Principal Mr. Frei stated. The last bond was voted
down because people didn’t want their property taxes to be raised. The taxes on homes will
only be raised slightly. If your home is worth
100,000 dollars, the taxes will be raised $29.63 per year. That’s only $2.47 per
month. That’s not much money
for the worthy cause. Don’t be heartless
and vote no for this bond. It’s going to help
better the school. Even though you might
not have kids in high school, you should still vote yes. Remember, those
students in this high school will be the future of this community. If they don’t have
the resources they need then this town will not reach its full potential. I highly urge you to go
out and vote yes on the bond.
